Peoria Journal Star features KCSS students' experience with horseback riding

In the spring of 2010, Knoxville Center took lessons to the country with a horseback riding outreach provided by Mr. Jeorge Brown.

Many students begin at Knoxville Center following a long history of school failure. At KCSS, students begin to realize that changing their thinking can change their lives.

Student Activities

Summer is a busy time at KCSS.  We are looking forward to a fantastic school year in 2011!  The school office will be open through Friday, June 25, 2010 and will reopen on Monday, August 9, 2010.  Voice mail is available on school phone and calls will be returned while office is closed.

Dates to keep in mind:

  • June 22, 23, 24--New Student Intake days.  All referred students and a parent must attend these sessions to formally apply for the programs at Knoxville Center.  For more information, please call 439 0000.
  • Friday, June 25--office closes.
  • Monday, August 9--office reopens.
  • Monday, August 30--KCSS staff returns to school
  • Tuesday, August 31--KCSS students return to school, 2 1/2 hr day
  • Wednesday, September 1--1/2 school day
  • Thursday, September 2--first full day of school, KCSS Orientation Day
